The Team
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role
Develop, implement and evaluate education and clinical support programs for initial, continuing, remediation, and clinical accreditation for all operational staff, and relevant education and clinical support programs for non-operational staff.
Ensure all Ambulance Tasmania staff are compliant with Department of Health Core Learning.
Ensure all clinical staff are compliant with the Ambulance Tasmania Credentialing Framework and provide key reports on credentialing to the Director - Education.
You will need
Demonstrated experience in the management of organisation-wide clinical and other educational functions within a complex environment.
Demonstrated understanding of the VET sector including the management of an RTO or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
Demonstrated understanding of the Tertiary education sector or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Eligibility

Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service, relevant work experience.
Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
Current Drivers Licence.

Transition to Practice
Aims to provide a safe and positive environment with a range of supporting resources to assist you as a newly qualified Registered Nurse. We will help you consolidate your skills and confidence as part of a high-quality, team-oriented workforce.
The Department of Health is the largest agency of the Tasmanian State government, responsible for public hospitals, Ambulance Tasmania, Community and Mental Health and a range of primary health care services. We strive to provide excellent care to the Tasmanian community.
About this Role
Transition to Practice supports safe, clinically appropriate nursing care in collaboration with patients/clients, their families and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve goals and health outcomes.
The program
works to support development of clinical and professional practice in a supported environment
supports delivery of quality and compassionate person-centred care
Positions are available in a wide range of practice settings across Tasmania, including metropolitan, and rural areas. Each applicant is matched as far as possible with their preferences however these cannot be guaranteed.
Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time shift worker and day worker positions available working a minimum of 48 hours per fortnight *additional hours may be available commencing in February 2027.

Employer nominated Sponsorship will not be available as part of this program.
Transition to Practice is for 6-12 months. This is a fixed term employment arrangement and duties may be varied as required based on operational requirements.

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Graduate registration

Location
Positions are available in the South, North, North West in a variety of settings.
Salary
$80,524 to $86,715 pro rata per annum + 12% superannuation.
Access to salary packaging provides a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Graduate Entry Points
For newly graduated registered nurses who have not previously held registration with Ahpra, the entry point will be:
Registered Nurse Grade 3 Year 1: $80,524 pro rata per annum
For those Enrolled Nurses currently working who are transitioning to a graduate Registered Nurse, the entry point will be:
Registered Nurse Grade 3 Year 3: $86,715 pro rata per annum
Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Current Driver’s Licence (Community Nurse positions only)
Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements

The King Island Hospital and Health Centre, is a facility based on the Bass Strait Island, King Island, that provides health and aged care services to the local community. It includes a 24/7 emergency service, inpatient beds, residential aged care beds. A recent redevelopment has aimed to modernise the centre to handle a broader range of inpatient, primary, and community care needs. The administrative team consists of a Senior Admin officer, Band 2 roles and ward clerk who work in a close knit team under the direction of senior management.
The Role
The King Island Hospital and Health Centre are seeking a motivated Ward Clerk to join their team.
In accordance with established policies and procedures relating to the clinical, financial, and administrative requirements, the Ward Clerk provides:
High quality customer-focused reception services.
Administration and clerical support across all areas of the relevant district hospital
Employees at the King Island Hospital and Health Centre is a team focussed on providing a high standard of community care. A dedicated team who work closely together to provide optimal outcomes for residents living in and patients attending the facility.
You will need
Frontline support — Assists public and staff, manages enquiries and appointment scheduling.
Administrative duties — Maintains patient records, enters data, updates databases and prepares documents.
