Classification Title: Director of Experiential Learning Job Description: The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position. This position will serve as the Director of Experiential Learning within the Associate Dean for Student Affairs office. This position is an internal search, open to all HWCOE faculty (both non-tenure and tenure-track e.g., Lecturer, engineer, or professor series, at any rank). The position’s anticipated start date is Fall 2024. Duties and responsibilities include Creating and directing the office of experiential learning that will serve as the primary point of support for engineering related student organizations. Supervise staff and management of college run makerspaces and prototyping facilities. Work with the UF Career Connections center, departments, industry partners, and national laboratories to assist students with internships and co-ops. Gather and organize data in the college relating to experiential learning. Additionally, this position will work with departments across the college to organize and communicate undergraduate research opportunities for students, work with the college of engineering director of international programs to incorporate study abroad experiences into the overall office of experiential learning, organize and run professional development workshops for engineering students related to all aspects of experiential learning and assist with the College of Engineering accreditation processes. We are seeking individuals with expertise in various ISE and/or interdisciplinary methods with focus in smart manufacturing (Industry 4.0). Areas of application include, but are not limited to, additive manufacturing, industrialized construction and infrastructure, semiconductors, space, aerospace, robotics, agriculture, sustainable manufacturing practices, supply chain operations, agile and/or in-situ quality assurance modeling, and structural health monitoring.
