    OPS - Laboratory Courier

    Classification Minimum Requirements:

    Completion of 9th grade

    Current classified Florida driver license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated. Possession of a classified driver license (CDL) may be required bases on the type of vehicle operated.

    Job Description:

    Courier Services:
    Responsible for ensuring the verification of specimens picked up at various locations and optimum
    transport of specimens at correct temperatures to maintain sample integrity. Responsible for recording,
    monitoring, and maintaining the temperature ranges for frozen, ambient, incubated, and refrigerated
    laboratory specimens.
    Delivers mail and materials to clients as designated by the supervisor or lead courier on a daily basis.
    Fills client supply orders on a daily basis and meets 24 hours turn-around for consumables and 48 hours
    for printed material.
    Enforces the laboratory specimen rejection / acceptance policy by confirming patient identification on
    specimens and requisitions.
    Maintains timeliness of assigned routes with associated timetables for each site to ensure turnaround
    times and optimal specimen receipt and reporting are met. Create and maintain database (provided route
    sheets) of stops, mileage, start and end times.
    As directed by supervisor or lead courier, assists with new hire training, safety, policies and procedures.


    Vehicle Maintenance:
    Performs basic vehicle maintenance (ie: all necessary fluids, fuel, and normal lubricants kept at required
    operating levels). Lights, as well as air pressure in tires, should be checked periodically. Maintains vehicle
    in top operational condition and appearance. Operates in a non􀇦destructive and careful manner through
    utilization of primary roadways, slowing for rough roadways, railroad crossings, and construction sites,
    etc. Adheres to posted speed limits.
    Reports any potential vehicle malfunctions immediately to designated person.
    Reports any accident or vehicle issues immediately and completes appropriate reports.Reports to Supervisor any medication used or illnesses requiring medications which could cause
    drowsiness, or any other reason for potential impairment.
    Drivers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles.


    Client Compliance:
    Have the ability to speak conscientiously to existing and potential customers and represent the company
    in the most professional manner.
    Escalate customer concerns or new customer opportunities to management.


    Laboratory processes:
    Have strong organizational and critical thinking skills and a customer-focused mindset. Able to identify
    potential customers they may discover along the way and effectively communicate those discoveries to
    PathLabs Client Relations team. Work to better the customer experience by helping to solve problems,
    brighten days and elevate concerns to management. Provide support to Laboratory personnel as
    required.

    Expected Salary:

    Starting salary is between $16.50 -$16.75

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of 9th grade

    Current classified Florida driver license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated. Possession of a classified driver license (CDL) may be required bases on the type of vehicle operated.

    Preferred: Completion of 12th grade or equivalent.

    Good verbal and writing skills
    Knowledge of medical terminology.
    Medical courier experience
    Background in customer service
    Experience with product deliveries and fulfillment
