The Pelvic Surgery Senior Registrar position will be best suited to a Level 5 or 6 trainee, with preference given to those who have passed the Fellowship exams. The position will be principally attached to the Gynaecologic Oncology service, with other senior registrar duties including after-hours cover, teaching and supervision of junior trainees. This position is particularly suited to a Trainee in their elective years who wishes to consolidate their surgical skills prior to entering specialist practice or subspecialist training. Experience will be gained in open and laparoscopic pelvic surgery and the care of women with complex surgical and medical conditions.

Salary

$131,000 - $183,500 per annum

Salary range in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Fixed term, full time day work 76 hours per fortnight (+ 10 hours protected training time) commencing 3 February 2025 until 2 February 2026

Duties

The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of public gynae-oncology inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Staffing Unit. The Registrar will participate in the weekend and public holiday roster for delivery suite and general obstetrics and gynaecology department and will spend a short rotation away from the Gynaeoncology unit to enable ITP registrar training in gynae-oncology.

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
