About the team

The Sportsbet Cybersecurity team is a diverse group of experienced professionals who enjoy the challenge and complexity involved in fast-growing digital organisation. They are passionate about protecting our customer data, take pride in their work, but know how to have fun while doing it. We’re looking for an individual to join the team and contribute in their own style, bringing their unique experiences and skills.

About the Role

Sportsbet is looking for a passionate Cyber Security Engineer who will work alongside our technology and business teams to help protect our customers and organisation. They will be responsible for core cyber security activities, including driving vulnerability management and incident management practices, deployment and maintenance of security technologies, developing bespoke security solutions, reviewing and approving technical changes, and other aspects of Security Operations.

• Provide risk-based solutions and support for technology projects.
• Respond to operational incidents and enhance detection capabilities.
• Manage vulnerability technology and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain relationships with Managed Security Services Provider and facilitate incident handling.
• Review technical changes and support teams in cybersecurity assessments.

About You

• Proficient in common security controls across various environments.
• Background in technical roles like systems administration or security engineering.
• Skilled in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Versatile across Windows/Linux/Unix and Public Cloud environments.
• Familiar with CICD pipelines and change management practices.
• Aware of emerging security trends and threats.
• Experienced in analyzing and responding to IT/Cyber Security incidents.
• Understanding of corporate network technologies and security standards.
• Demonstrated application of security best practices and controls, with risk assessment familiarity.
