The role:

We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our Medical Unit at the North West Regional Hospital. We are looking for passionate nurses who deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive supportive environment. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the health outcomes of your patients through excellence in practice, fostering a learning culture, excellent communication skills and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

The Ward:

The Comprehensive Care Medical Unit at Northwest Regional Hospital consists of a 27 bed General Medical Ward, a 15-bed Isolation/ General Medicine Unit and an 8 bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU) for short stay patients. We specialise in providing care to people living with complex medical conditions including acute stroke, palliative care and end of life nursing, sepsis, respiratory and cardiac conditions, and acute delirium. The Isolation area provides care for various transmission-based infections including COVID 19.

Staff also have the opportunity to be rotated through all areas of the Medical Unit, and there are many opportunities for ongoing professional development and learning of Comprehensive Care Medical Nursing available, all of which are supported and encouraged to ensure optimal care for patients.

Details of Appointment

Multiple Permanent, full time and part time, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are ready to join our team

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $75,902 to $102,908 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
