The role:

The Older Persons Mental Health Service’s (OPMHS) Roy Fagan Centre is Tasmania’s specialised facility to assess and treat elderly persons with mental illness and dementia.

This position will play a key role in the leadership of the Roy Fagan Centre’s activities and Day Centre, in partnership with the OPMHS management team.

The role will provide professional supervision of other AHP staff in the Roy Fagan Centre and Older Person’s Mental Health Community Teams.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $120,114 to $130,181 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia and Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or

  2. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; or

  3. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is eligible for membership with the AASW

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Holds, or is working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications

  2. Current Driver’s Licence

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  5. serious traffic offences
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
