The Team
The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) at the Royal Hobart Hospital is a dynamic, fast‑paced environment that supports hospital-wide operations, staffing and patient flow. The team works collaboratively to provide efficient and effective administrative, recruitment and workforce support to ensure the smooth functioning of services across Hospitals South.
Working closely with Nurse Unit Managers (Staffing and Support) and a range of clinical, administrative and corporate stakeholders, the IOC team plays a key role in coordinating systems, processes and information that enable high-quality, safe and responsive care delivery. The team is committed to continuous improvement, innovation and maintaining strong working relationships across the organisation.
The Role
Provide high-level administrative and clerical support to the NUMs IOC Staffing and Support
Support recruitment activities, including coordinating documentation, timesheets and workforce records
Deliver administrative support across the broader RHH IOC as required
Prioritise workload, manage competing demands and respond to issues with practical solutions
Assist in improving administrative systems, processes and reporting
Work across key systems including recruitment, rostering and patient flow platforms
Collaborate with clinical, administrative and corporate stakeholders
Provide flexible support across IOC functions in a fast-paced environment
You will need
Ability to undertake administrative duties including efficient operation of keyboard and word processing equipment, office automation systems and possess understanding of payroll and human resource processes.
High-level computer skills including the use of spreadsheets, word documents, recording and maintenance of staff rostering systems and patient flow software.
High-level interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in a team environment subject to work pressures and change.
Sound knowledge and experience of office management practice and the demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, comply with established timeframes and have the capacity to deal with several tasks concurrently.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Awards, Agreements, Employment Directions, Policies and Legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

Details of appointment
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing in September 2026 for 6 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$76,849 to $82,996 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

The Team
Join our Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus on Discharge Planning, based at the Millbrook Rise Centre.
This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in improving the quality of life for our Mental Health Consumers and successfully setting them up in the community to live long-term.
Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed mental health subacute inpatient facility; we are a consumer-centred service with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley. We work closely with various services within not only Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) but also with the wider community services such as NDIS providers.
We are a collaborative team that works with our consumers, their friends and families in their individualised recovery journey. We have a constantly developing activities and therapeutic groups program and we welcome new staff and new ideas to contribute to the activities program at the site.
The Role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Discharge Planning will undertake the coordination of quality discharge planning for patients with severe and enduring complex mental health needs, developing change management strategies to facilitate timely access and streamlined patient flow.
You will need
Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality mental health care in an acute inpatient mental health setting with a particular focus on discharge planning assessments, risk assessments, brief psychological interventions and developing management plans.
Extensive demonstrated experience working in an inpatient mental health setting in an autonomous role and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated knowledge of the psychological and healthcare needs of individuals, including the understanding of recovery principles, policies and procedures, and associated legislation which impact upon inpatient and community based settings.

The Team
The Nurse Unit Manager position is based at the Mersey Community Hospital and has clinical and management oversite of the 4 theatre complex (3 operational), PACU and DSU
Works collaboratively and in partnership with the Regional Surgical and Perioperative Services (SAPS)
The Role
The Nurse Unit Manager:
Provides leadership to the Operating Theatre and Day Surgery environment at the Mersey Community Hospital.
Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education, and nursing research functions within the Operating Theatre.
Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material, and financial resources for service delivery within the Operating Theatre.

The Laboratory Assistant provides operational support for laboratory freezer inventory management. The role applies established procedures and system requirements to maintain accurate records in mySample, supports consistent storage practices, and contributes to the effective operation of freezer inventory systems.
This role will:
• Apply established procedures and data standards to catalogue, label and record samples in mySample
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical samples against system data
• Identify and investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions within established guidelines
• Organise freezer storage to improve accessibility and efficient use of space
• Interpret and apply standard laboratory procedures, guidelines and safety requirements
• Provide guidance to users on labelling, data entry and storage practices
• Assist with onboarding and use of mySample and related processes
• Coordinate routine stocktakes and sample clean-up activities with stakeholders
• Monitor data quality and contribute to process and workflow improvements
• Comply with WHS requirements, including safe manual handling and working in cold storage
A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:
• Relevant experience in a laboratory, technical or operational environment, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Demonstrated ability to apply procedures and systems consistently and accurately
• Experience using inventory systems or databases (e.g. mySample or similar)
• Ability to identify issues and apply judgement within defined frameworks
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to provide clear guidance to others on standard processes
• Competent computer skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work safely in laboratory and cold storage environments
