The Team
Join our award-winning team of Clinical Nursing and Midwifery Educators and Clinical Facilitators who work across the North West of Tasmania as patient safety guardians. We build the clinical skills of the whole multidisciplinary team to respond to patient deterioration. We develop innovative evidence-based programs to build the clinical competence of nurses across the spectrum of practice. Participate in whole of health service simulation exercises. Learn and grow with us. Positions are available at Northwest Regional Hospital.
The Role
Develop the clinical competencies of the Emergency Department team
Supervise and mentor Junior team members
Support the education program in the Emergency Department
You will need to have strong emergency nursing skills and have completed your own resus and triage training.
You will need to have a desire to support the team through education and be willing to learn and develop your own education assessment skills.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until the 28 April 2027.

Salary
$102,439 to $105,995 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

Progressing towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or relevant post graduate qualifications.
More than 4 years’ experience as a registered nurse.

The Team
The Office of the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery (EDONM) is responsible for regional strategic priorities and projects for North West Hospitals and Primary Health Services. This includes workforce planning, centralised recruitment support, pathways to excellence and general project support.
The Role
Works in North West facilities settings to improve health care services through use of health management information systems to enhance clinical practices in nursing and midwifery.
Provides leadership and coordination of nursing and midwifery projects, with the specific challenge and strategic direction of assisting in the establishment of the Recruitment Co-Operative for Nursing and Midwifery recruitment within Hospitals North West.
Support and assist in the development of the single recruitment pipeline through targeted priority recruitment, support frontline managers to fill all vacancies through adaptive strategies and business cases, and marketing materials that target Nursing and Midwifery.
Additional projects as prioritised through the strategic planning framework of the EDONM.
You will need
Strong nursing/midwifery leadership expertise with contemporary knowledge of nursing and midwifery practice, workforce planning, service improvement, and quality healthcare delivery.
Proven project management and analytical capability, including experience in research methodologies, strategic planning, problem-solving, and leading complex initiatives to achieve organisational outcomes.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, collaborate and negotiate effectively, understand relevant health policy and legislation, to improve and develop the nursing and midwifery workforce.

The Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Community Health Nursing West Coast (CNC - CHNWC) is the clinical lead of the area and works collaboratively with nursing, medical and allied health clinicians in the communities of Queenstown, Strahan, Zeehan and Rosebery (based in Rosebery, travel in the region required):
Lead and promote the efficient and effective provision of community-based care based on best practice clinical and organisational principles, specifically in alignment with the Primary and Community Health Care Standards, National Primary Health Care Standards, and Aged Care Quality Standards.
Maintain a collaborative partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including relevant NDIS and MAC providers.
Coordination of team discussions and staff allocations to ensure appropriate and efficient care of patients.
Support and promote an environment that fosters staff education and learning, quality improvement and compliance requirements of the service.

Highly diverse hand therapy caseload with chronic and traumatic injuries including tendon, nerve and bone injuries. Opportunity for clinical autonomy in the management of simple fractures and support with the management of complex traumas
Opportunity for mentorship/ further skill development in hand therapy, burns and scar management
Work as part of the experienced therapy team in Hands/Burns/Plastics and within the wider Allied Health teams
