The Role:
Reporting through the Clinical Director, you will provide high-quality specialist cardiology services across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). Key responsibilities include:
Delivering comprehensive cardiology assessment, diagnosis, and management for admitted and referred patients
Performing and interpreting a broad range of cardiac investigations and interventional procedures appropriate to your scope of practice
Contributing to after-hours on-call rosters and acute cardiac response
Providing clinical supervision and education to junior medical staff, registrars, and students

Position Details
Permanent full-time day worker position (with an on-call component), working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are available.

Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive remuneration package in line with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025, including:
➕ $222,789 – $319,701 per annum, pro rata➕ 12% Superannuation➕ Access to Salary Packaging and benefits
Salary: The remuneration package for this position, based on classification as a Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 9, starts at $500,000 per annum, with potential for higher earnings in accordance with the current Specialist Medical Practitioner Award (Tasmania) 2025
Note: Access to the Senior Specialist salary range ($309,222 – $319,701) is subject to meeting the eligibility criteria set out in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award 2025.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata
Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $17,483 per annum, pro rata
Relocation and commencement support available up to $15,000 for approved appointees
Management Allowance up 10% is applied to this role
Participation in Private Practice Scheme 35% or allowance in lieu of private practice schemes 35%. Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year

Reporting through the Hospitals North leadership structure, you will hold accountability for the strategic direction, clinical governance, and operational performance of the Northern Heart Centre. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading the clinical and administrative functions of the Centre, ensuring safe, high-quality cardiac care is delivered to patients across northern Tasmania
Driving service planning and development in alignment with DHHS statewide health priorities and the Tasmanian Health Service's clinical service profile

Providing authoritative clinical governance oversight, including quality improvement, credentialling, and risk management

Position Details
Fixed term, part time, day worker (with on call) position, working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing in July for a three year period.
For candidates considering relocation to Launceston, a full-time, permanent Staff Specialist – Cardiology position is also available and may be combined with the Director role, offering an excellent opportunity for long-term career development and leadership.
Hours: 38 per fortnight (with flexibility to negotiate)

The University of Florida Division of Geriatric Medicine is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified geriatrician to join our rapidly growing, mission-driven team dedicated to advancing the care of older adults. This is a full-time faculty appointment in the Department of Medicine at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, on either the tenure or non-tenure track. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and career goals.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate clinician and enthusiastic educator with a strong interest in developing an academic career in geriatric medicine.
