About you

The Team
The Workforce Strategy and Planning Unit (WSPU) provides statewide leadership in cross‑sectoral health workforce strategy, policy and planning, including medical workforce policy and strategy, to build a sustainable, skilled and future‑ready workforce for Tasmania. The Unit delivers integrated, evidence‑based workforce planning aligned with service and infrastructure planning, leads implementation and monitoring of the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan, and ensures alignment with national workforce reforms and priorities. The Workforce Planning Team is responsible for the delivery of strategic, integrated workforce planning that is aligned with the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan 2025-2030.
The Role
This position supports integrated workforce planning and monitoring through a combination of strategic planning, data analysis and reporting. It contributes to the development of long‑term and annual workforce plans, applying planning tools, frameworks and modelling to support workforce supply and demand, while ensuring alignment with health system priorities and service needs. The position analyses and manages workforce data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities, supports monitoring and evaluation activities through reports, dashboards and key metrics, and prepares clear, evidence‑based briefings and planning materials for decision‑makers. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the position helps ensure workforce planning and monitoring activities are responsive, data‑driven and support sustainable workforce models and effective service delivery.
You will need
Demonstrated experience in workforce planning or related disciplines, with the ability to apply planning tools and frameworks in complex environments.
Ability to interpret and analyse data and integrate insights into planning or monitoring processes, supported by strong analytical, investigative and research skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present planning and monitoring insights clearly to diverse audiences, communicate concepts in writing and verbally, and contribute to briefings, reports and workforce plans.

Aeromedical Retrieval Registrar position assist staffing a 24 hour 7 day a week medical retrieval service for critically ill patients requiring hospital transfer both intra and interstate on a call out basis. When not actively retrieving the Retrieval Registrar is based in and rostered to 76 hours + 10 hours of protected training time per fortnight in the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Intensive Care Unit performing the duties of an ICU Registrar. (By negotiation Retrieval Registrars may also be based in the LGH Department of Emergency Medicine)
The LGH has a purpose-built Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 11 fully staffed beds. We are the major referral centre for North and North West Tasmania. We are accredited as a general training unit (C12 pre-2014) by CICM and for completion of the ICU requirement of training for both ACEM and ANZCA trainees. Time in our unit also counts a Rural Exposure for CICM. Our trainees gain exposure to a wide range of investigations, interventions, and procedures.

A weekly teaching program including formal ICU teaching and ICU skills session
Weekly echocardiography training
A regular Journal Club
Support for trainees preparing primary and fellowship exams
A monthly Morbidity and Mortality meeting
Research grants available
Opportunities to complete rotations in Anaesthesia, Medicine and Emergency Medicine

Salary:
Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $138,978 - $194,675 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
In addition, during the period of employment whilst working in the North or North-West of Tasmania in duties classified as a Medical Practitioner Level 1-11, the employee is entitled to be paid an allowance of $10,000 per annum, paid on a fortnightly basis.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award 2022

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. Desirable Requirements
At least 4 Full years of post-graduate experience
Achieved APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support) certification
Nonflying rostered hours will be allocated to an LGH area appropriate to the trainee’s background, such as Intensive Care, Anaesthesia or Emergency Medicine
Capable of independently managing critically ill airways and transporting critically ill patients independently with support from a Retrieval Consultant over the phone.

The Team
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services to children, young people and their families in accordance with the Statewide Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the successful AHP will:
The Role
Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
Provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with major and complex mental health problems, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
Function as an active member of a multidisciplinary team including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.
You will need
A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service area.
Demonstrated clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health in relation to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service area including the ability to provide appropriate assessment of mental health problems.
Demonstrated expertise in the theoretical and practical application of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community and Older Persons Mental Health Service area with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.
