The Team
The Emergency Department (ED) is a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to providing safe, timely and high-quality emergency care to the Tasmanian community. Clinical Nurse Educator supports early patient assessment and improved patient flow by ensuring nurses have the knowledge and skills to provide timely interventions. Working as part of the Department of Health, this role partners closely with the Nursing Director, Nurse Unit Manager and the broader interdisciplinary team to deliver education, build workforce capability and support continuous improvement in emergency care.
The Role
Develop, implement and evaluate education frameworks, training programs and associated learning resources for the Emergency Department.
Coordinate and deliver ongoing education, training and professional development to support staff in the ED while promoting evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and the multidisciplinary team to support quality improvement initiatives, staff development and excellence in the CNE position.
You will need:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (essential), with relevant postgraduate qualifications desirable.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in emergency nursing, with experience developing, delivering and evaluating education and training programs.
Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills, with a strong understanding of quality improvement, patient safety, contemporary education principles and Work Health and Safety requirements.

Details of appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, 13 September 2026 until 15 January 2028.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Benefits available to eligible candidates
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

The Team
The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Emergency Department is the primary provider of emergency care for Northern Tasmania, delivering comprehensive 24-hour services for patients presenting with conditions ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.
As part of Hospitals North, the department works collaboratively with Ambulance Tasmania, inpatient teams and community-based services to ensure safe, efficient and patient-focused care. Committed to excellence, the team fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the Tasmanian community.
The Role
Support the delivery of a safe and secure Emergency Department by assisting the multidisciplinary care team, participating in security responses (including Code Black), and providing manual handling support to meet patient care needs.
You will need:

Strong ability to collaborate and contribute positively as part of a team
Demonstrated reliability, flexibility and a strong work ethic

Multipurpose facility with 24-hour emergency care, 6 sub-acute beds, 20 residential beds, Community Nursing, palliative care, same day infusion clinic.

The Role
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in both the emergency department and sub-acute in-patient ward and aged care to provide high quality patient care to a variety of patients with varying medical requirements in line with NSQHS and AGED CARE standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Previous emergency experience including triage and cannulation competency.
