Why Your Role Matters:The Education Designer, Digital plays a key role within the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, partnering with the project team and the ADA Education Portfolio to deliver a strategic project focused on mapping and surfacing skills in a higher education context.
Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will support the design, development, implementation and evaluation of educational and digital initiatives that enhance learning, strengthen curriculum design and improve the capture and recognition of students' skills. Through stakeholder engagement, co-design and innovative learning design practices, you will help deliver engaging educational experiences that respond to current and future industry and government needs.
The role reports to the Educational Program Manager and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities Summary:
Partner with academics to develop undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, incorporating curriculum-to-skills mapping, aligned learning activities, assessments and feedback.
Design and develop engaging online learning activities, modules and digital resources using evidence-based learning and teaching practices.
Provide expert advice and Faculty-specific Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching (TELT) support to academics and project stakeholders.
Develop strong stakeholder relationships to support innovative teaching practices and successful project outcomes.
Collaborate with academics, project teams and learning and teaching staff to ensure alignment with UNSW educational strategy and policy.
Support workshops, training and communities of practice to build capability in skills-based curriculum design.
Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of educational technology processes that support skills mapping, skills recognition and student skills data.
Provide advice on integrating educational technologies and digital platforms that support skills recognition, showcase student capabilities and enhance the learner experience.
Work collaboratively with technical specialists to support the development and implementation of educational platforms, digital learning experiences and AI-enabled educational solutions.

Skills and Experience Summary:
Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent level of competence gained through education, training and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience contributing to curriculum, program or course design and developing digital learning resources using learning management systems and/or educational technologies.
Demonstrated technical aptitude and confidence working with digital systems and Microsoft 365 applications to support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of digital learning experiences in partnership with technical specialists.
Experience working within an academic learning and teaching environment or a comparable setting.
Sound understanding of learning theories and contemporary pedagogical practices, with demonstrated experience using digital learning technologies, structured information, advanced spreadsheet functionality and AI-enabled tools to support learning design and continuous improvement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative pedagogical and digital learning solutions while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and collaborate effectively with academic and professional stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment.

The Team
The Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) is located in the Royal Hobart Hospital, level 2 and 3K West. MHIU sits under the Mental Health Department (MHD) within the Statewide Mental Health Services' Acute Care Stream and supports adults with serious mental illness across multiple locations, serving southern Tasmania and those best suited to its services.
The Role
Deliver evidence-based assessment, therapeutic interventions, and case management to support consumers and their families throughout their inpatient mental health journey.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and community partners to promote recovery, continuity of care, and safe, coordinated discharge planning.
Contribute to service excellence through clinical leadership, quality improvement, professional development, and supervision of students and emerging clinicians.
You will need
A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to acute mental health.
Demonstrated clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health in relation to acute mental health including the ability to provide appropriate assessment of mental health problems.
Demonstrated expertise in the theoretical and practical application of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant acute mental health with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.

Salary
