The Role
The Nurse Unit Manager:
Provides leadership to Eastern Shore Community Nursing (ESCN), Community Continence Service (CCS) and Glamorgan Spring Bay Community Nursing Service (GSBCN).
Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions within ESCN, CCS and GSBCN.
Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material and financial resources for service delivery within the ESCN, CCS, GBSCN and the facilities of the Spring Bay and Swansea Community Health Centres.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary
$126,411 - $132,325 per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

The role:
The Operations Supervisor, Critical Care & Retrieval leads a team of highly trained Intensive Care Flight Paramedics and Retrieval Consultants across both Road and Rotary-Wing platforms. Working closely with key stakeholders internally, in the Department of Health, Department of Police Fire and Emergency Management and aviation operators, the Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the successful day to day operations of the business unit.
The Operations Supervisor, Critical Care and Retrieval reports regularly to the Director, Critical Care and Retrieval and Operations Manager, Critical Care and Retrieval in relation to operational service activities, performance of the team and issues which may impact on the team’s ability to deliver services.
The occupant is responsible for:
Supervising all aspects of day-to-day ambulance service delivery in Critical Care and Retrieval, actively promoting quality client service principles and facilitating opportunities for training and development.
Oversight of physical and human resources of the unit including staff rostering and leave allocation in accordance with relevant industrial instruments.
Providing clinical advice, direction and operational support in relation to dispatch decisions.
Ensuring that services provided by the section comply with acts, regulations, policies, practices and procedures as they relate to the operation of Critical Care and Retrieval.
Undertaking a pro-active role in developing effective working relationships with all sections of Ambulance Tasmania and external service organisations to ensure seamless delivery of service, dynamic cover and resource deployment.
Contributing to service delivery and planning processes for Critical Care and Retrieval and as required more broadly Ambulance Tasmania
Ensure the efficient and effective completion of operational duties and administrative duties of flight paramedics, including the meeting of appropriate key performance indicators.
Provide leadership and coordination of operational resources including determining and liaising with operational colleagues to ensure appropriate staffing levels within allocated resources, to affect a seamless delivery of service to meet performance standards.

Lead a dedicated team of rescue and retrieval Flight Paramedics and Doctors within Critical Care and Retrieval, fostering an environment of growth and development.

Utilise your leadership skills to strategically manage operational resources, ensuring optimal staffing levels and effective deployment of specialised rotary wing resources.

Eligibility:

In accordance with established guidelines, processes and procedures, and under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacist - Correctional Health, the Pharmacy Technician - Correctional Health will provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service within a Correctional Primary Health Services (CPHS) environment.
The Role:
The successful applicant will work within a team of specialist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians under the direction of the Senior Pharmacist to provide pharmacy services across the area of Correctional Primary Health Services.
This includes assisting in the coordination and provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service, including dispensing and production and management of dose administration aids such as Webster packs. Medication ordering and distribution, including deliveries to out centres and imprest management. Working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible quality use of medicines across correctional facilities.

Correctional Primary Health Services provides general and specialist healthcare to men and women in prison and has health services in each Tasmanian prison in both Hobart and Launceston. This position is based at the Risdon Prison Hospital, a high security area. The occupant will have regular daily contact with prisoners in both the outpatient and inpatient areas.
