The Team

The Role:
As Deputy Manager – Occupational Therapy (Rehabilitation), you play a key leadership role in shaping service delivery and supporting staff development. This position is responsible for the management and development of over 20 Occupational Therapy Service staff working across sub-acute and community sites. Your leadership is essential for maintaining excellence in patient outcomes and aligning services with the Department’s CARE values—Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
You will work closely with the Occupational Therapy leadership team and multi-disciplinary leads to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services. You will also represent occupational therapy in the wider health care setting and deputise for the Head of Department when required.
You will need:
Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist in Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation and Management and / or Transition Care Programs.
A proven ability to lead, engage others and drive change.
A passion for staff well-being and development.

Eligibility

The Team
The Hospital Aide Team within the Department of Health Tasmania plays an essential role in supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare services. The Team:
The Cancer Service multi-disciple team work closely together to maintain a focus on delivering excellence in cancer treatment and care, striving to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers and the North West community. The role is part-time working along side another Senior Social Worker and supported by an Allied Health Assistant.
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Social Worker, skilled in delivering a service to clients undergoing treatment for cancer. Reporting to both the North West Cancer Centre manager and the Social Work manager, this role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to responding to the psychosocial and practical support needs of clients undergoing cancer treatment, their families and carers.
In accordance with Agency policy and with the Code of Ethics and standards of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW), the Senior Social Worker - North West Cancer Centre within a multidisciplinary team context, will provide social work services utilising cancer care knowledge and skills to develop a response to client service and service development needs.
As a member of the North West Cancer Service you will
Actively pursue person-centred social work interventions that aim to minimise the psychosocial impacts of cancer treatment.
Contribute to the development, provision and evaluation of social work services.
Mentor and supervise student development in accordance with current models and professional standards.
