Job Description:
The University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, tenure-track or clinical-track position in Orthopedic Surgery (Small Animal) at the rank of Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor. We are particularly interested in experienced candidates who can bring advanced clinical skills, leadership, and innovation to our dynamic Orthopedic Surgery Service, with opportunities to further develop expertise in areas such as minimally invasive procedures, advanced imaging, or 3D printing. This position provides opportunities to participate in clinical and bench-top research, as well as teaching and clinical service.
Teaching responsibilities will include didactic and clinical training of professional students, graduate students, residents and interns, and participation in service activities of the Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery Service in the UF Small Animal Hospital. Participation in the clinical service in the UF Veterinary Hospital includes receiving and management of orthopedic cases, after hours back-up for surgical residents on-call, consultations within the hospital and practicing veterinarians, participating in the growth of this service and continuing education.
The University of Florida is committed to advancing scholarship and discovery in clinical and translational research, and candidates are expected to demonstrate potential to contribute to the field of small animal orthopedics. Research facilities include laboratories for 3D printing, canine gait analysis, surgical training, and biomechanics. Collaborative opportunities exist across campus with departments such as Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the College of Medicine. The working environment is supportive and collegial, with structured mentorship for new faculty. Professional development is both encouraged and expected, with support for continuing education and guidance from experienced colleagues. An ACVS-approved Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Orthopedic Surgery is also available.
The small animal hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with 12 operating theaters and offers a full complement of equipment and procedures such as CT, MRI, arthroscopy, mini-, large-, and ceiling-mounted C-arms, total hip replacement, numerous plate fixation systems, interlocking nail fixation, and circular/linear external skeletal fixation systems.
Gainesville is located in north central Florida, but a short drive from the major cultural centers in north and central Florida (Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa). It is a dynamic and versatile university community with excellent school and health care systems and a multitude of nearby recreational opportunities. There are many opportunities for outdoor recreation including close proximity to beautiful beaches, Gulf Coast fishing towns, crystal clear warm water springs and unique wildlife.

The Team:
LGH Radiology is a growing department full of proactive and enthusiastic staff. A dedicated and collaborative management, education and quality team (including preceptors) ensures a high level of participation in the future direction of the department, both educationally and operationally. LGH radiology regularly has students from CSU, RMIT and Deakin universities, inclusive of 4th year positions.
The LGH radiology department has an annual turnover of over 70,000 examinations and is staffed 24/7 with a mix of shiftwork and on call. Our equipment is all early to midlife and constantly being updated, recently acquiring 2 new CT scanners and 5 new ultrasound units.
The Role:
The Specialist Radiographer (Medical Imaging Practitioner) is responsible for performing basic and advanced diagnostic imaging including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) and/or Angiography radiographic imaging examinations, procedures and associated administrative tasks. This role has an emphasis on MRI, with a view to extend operating hours.

The Team
The Health Information Team plays a central role in managing the lifecycle of health data across Tasmania’s public health system. From data collection and storage to analysis and reporting, the team ensures that accurate, timely, and high-quality information supports both the health of Tasmanians and the performance of health services.
Health data is a critical enabler of system-wide planning, funding, and reform. The work of the Health Information Team underpins key departmental functions, including service agreement monitoring, national reporting obligations, and strategic decision-making.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager Health Information, the Data Project Officer plays a key role in supporting data-driven decision making across the Department. You will contribute to performance monitoring, planning and reporting activities, while coordinating business as usual data-related deliverables.
In this role, you will:
Develop and enhance reporting tools, processes and data analysis to support performance reporting
Undertake data analysis, database design and interpretation of results
Support projects and programs, including planning, implementation and documentation
Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and submissions for internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to agency-wide initiatives, working collaboratively across teams
You will operate with initiative and a degree of autonomy, providing valuable insights to support strategic planning and service improvement.
You will need
Strong organisational, coordination and planning skills
Experience analysing and interpreting data, including use of information systems and reporting tools
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate data into insights
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and prepare clear reports
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment
