About the opportunity
Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of simulation-based learning frameworks aligned with professional and accreditation standards (e.g. ANMAC, NMBA).
Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs using contemporary, technology-enabled simulation approaches.
Drive curriculum development and innovation, ensuring programs remain industry-relevant and future-focused.
Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, industry partners and accrediting bodies.
Contribute to scholarship and research in health professions education, including publication and collaboration.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, capability building and mentoring within the School.
About you
PhD in Nursing (desirable) or equivalent professional qualifications and experience, with current professional registration.
Demonstrated experience in simulation-based learning, curriculum design, and teaching in higher education.
Proven ability to lead education innovation projects, including planning, delivery, evaluation and quality improvement.
Strong track record in scholarship or research, including publications and collaborative academic engagement.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building partnerships across healthcare, industry and academia.

The Team
The Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) at Royal Hobart Hospital is a critical tertiary service providing comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging to support acute, sub-acute, outpatient, and statewide referral services across Tasmania. The department delivers a full suite of imaging modalities, including general radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and intra-operative imaging, operating across extended hours to meet emergency, inpatient, and elective demand. DMI plays a pivotal role in enabling timely diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making for high-acuity services such as Emergency, Intensive Care, Surgery, Oncology, Stroke, and Trauma. The department’s focus is on delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centred imaging services while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, supporting workforce capability, optimising workflows, and responding to increasing demand, technological advancement, and system-wide reform priorities.
The Role
As a Specialist Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will deliver high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging services for inpatients and outpatients at the Royal Hobart Hospital. You will perform complex and advanced imaging procedures, contribute to clinical leadership, and support the delivery of best-practice patient care.
In this role, you will:
Perform specialised Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging, including complex and novel procedures
Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and undertake laboratory-based activities
Provide supervision, training, and guidance to less experienced staff
Contribute to protocol development, quality improvement, and research initiatives
Support a safe, high-quality clinical environment aligned with professional and organisational standards
Participate in on-call services and ongoing professional development
You will need
Demonstrated experience in complex Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging
Strong knowledge of contemporary techniques, equipment, and best practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach
Proven ability to supervise, train, and support other staff

Details of appointment
Fixed term, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 June 2027.

Salary

The Role
Within the Southern Agency Framework, and in accordance with Department Policy and Procedures, the Physiotherapist will:
Provide physiotherapy assessments and interventions to patients referred to the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Physiotherapy Services.
Participate in relevant quality improvement activities to ensure safe and effective delivery of patient care.
Patient care is provided collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team across relevant areas of the Agency as required.
You will need
Maintain accurate clinical and administrative activity data in accordance with Departmental requirements.
Attend and participate in family, ward and departmental meetings and in-services as required.
Liaise with other physiotherapists and members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding the ongoing care of patients.

The Team:
The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) offers a specialised counselling and support to assist adults, children and young people, children who have experienced family violence. This service is part of the Safe at Home service system, with a strong focus on the safety and well-being of victim survivors of family violence.
The Role:
Assist children and young people to recover from their experience of family violence trauma through the delivery of evidence based and family violence trauma informed therapeutic counselling and support. This will include a range of developmental and age appropriate techniques and tools within a counselling/therapeutic setting.
Contribute to and participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of group programs.
Provide information and support, referral and advice to clients and other service providers.
You will need
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and practice experience of family violence trauma and its impact on the developmental needs of children and young people, together with the ability to assess complex dynamics and risk and safety assessments within a specialist family violence framework.
Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically with children and young people who have complex needs, including the ability to work effectively with family members and other service providers in a complex care context.
Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative, work with general supervision and seek guidance as appropriate.
