About the role
The purpose of the role is to provide high level specialist strategic and policy advice to the General Manager (Marine Resources) and support through the delivery of efficient and effective fisheries compliance, licensing and monitoring processes, operations and systems. Maintain close and effective liaison with the Tasmanian Marine Police in the delivery of fisheries for compliance and enforcement.
As a delegate, undertake the relevant statutory functions and exercise the powers of the Minister or Secretary pursuant to the provisions of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 and the Marine Farming Planning Act 1995 and the subordinate legislation.
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
2 years or until the return of the substantive, whichever is earliest.

About the Role
Manage the operations of the school office and co-ordinate the school administrative service and assigned resources. Provide authoritative advice and support to the Principal and senior staff on administrative, resource and service management. Develop and implement operational solutions to meet administrative service requirements.

The Lead Integration Engineer (Student) is a senior role within the Student and Research (StARs) Domain accountable for leading the design, delivery and operation of enterprise class integration service and leadership for the Student Sub-Domain. The role is responsible for the data and technical architecture, design, delivery, and lifecycle management of complex integration solutions, primarily leveraging established technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure and PeopleSoft Integration Broker. The Lead Integration Engineer has a leading role in the research, analysis and adoption of emerging technologies and platforms to support future integration needs. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role acts as the authoritative subject-matter expert for integration, shaping strategy, setting standards, mentoring staff, and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable student data exchange across enterprise, cloud, and third-party systems. The role demonstrates end-to-end ownership of the Student Integrations services and platforms, influencing long-term architectural direction and enabling UNSW’s technology strategy. The Lead has responsibility for a team of employees, contractors and vendors who deliver the Student Sub-Domain integration services. The position reports to the Head of Student Solutions.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
Provide enterprise-level leadership for data and integration architecture across the Student Sub-Domain suite of services and products.
Manage and govern data and integration standards, patterns, and best practices aligned to UNSW enterprise architecture and integration strategies for the subdomain.
Act as the senior technical authority and escalation point for complex integration, performance, and security issues.
Lead the design and delivery of highly complex, mission-critical integration solutions for the subdomain.
Ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements.
Review vendor integration designs and technical proposals to ensure they meet UNSW standards and business needs.
Monitor the ongoing performance and operation of integrations to ensure they remain efficient and fit for purpose.
As part of the lifecycle management of our integration solutions, develop plans to evolve legacy integrations to more mature architectures and platforms, reduce technical debt and leading to greater consistency across all our integration services.
Partner with cloud, infrastructure, security, integration, architecture, and other teams to implement appropriate solutions, monitoring, and security controls.
Oversee the development and maintenance of high-quality documentation, standards, roadmaps, and operational runbooks.
Work in close partnership with senior stakeholders, functional leads, architects, central integration team, and vendors to define integration requirements and outcomes.
Provide technical leadership and expert advice on integration strategy, risk, and technology direction.
Influence architectural and delivery decisions beyond own team, contributing to enterprise technology roadmaps.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the team.
Drive feedback loops and retrospectives across teams to refine processes, remove barriers, and enhance delivery performance.
Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values and ensure hazards and risks psychosocial and physical are identified and controlled for tasks, projects, and activities that pose a health and safety risk within your area of responsibility.
Who you are:
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent), with demonstrated success managing complex integration and applications in large, diverse organisations.
Proven advanced experience leading the delivery and operation of enterprise-scale integration services.
Experience integrating large ERPs (preferably PeopleSoft), CRMs (preferably Dynamics 365) with SaaS and cloud-native integration platforms.
Deep knowledge of Student Information Systems and their associated integration frameworks and standards.
Strong understanding of typical data sets for key business processes across the entire student academic lifecycle
Demonstrated experience with the design and development of API-based and event-drive integration architectures.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
Relevant cloud certifications (AWS or Azure)
Experience operating within large, federated, or higher education organisations.
Expert knowledge of integration security and hybrid architectures.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage high performing teams.

Reporting to the Deputy CISO, the role exercises university-wide strategic authority for the operational delivery and continual evolution of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) through the assessment of information security risk associated with ICT services and IT initiatives, and the provision of cyber security subject matter expertise, risk assessment and advisory services to executive leadership and University stakeholders. The role is accountable for shaping cyber security strategy, governance, and risk posture to enable institutional objectives, ensuring alignment with regulatory, legislative, and sector-wide obligations.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Cyber Security Advisory team in the delivery of risk advisory and risk assessment services to University stakeholders.
Influence and advise executive leadership, faculties, and divisions in the practical application of security and risk management concepts, principles and strategies, and relevant industry standards. Driving consistent adoption across the institution.
Own the institutional cyber risk framework and oversee the identification, assessment, and aggregation of security risks., Recommend and document risk treatment actions, in respect of IT services, solution designs and technology architectures.
Provide expert advice on cyber security compliance by developing, documenting, and communicating adherence to architecture, blueprints, components, standards, and strategies.
Lead the development, execution, and continuous refinement of the Cyber Security Strategy, policies and standards in conjunction with the Cyber Security Leadership team.
Oversee institutional threat and risk awareness capability, ensuring the University maintains proactive and adaptive responses to emerging cyber security threats.
Build, key effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, championing professional standards, innovation and methods.

Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values
Ensure hazards and risks psychosocial and physical are identified and controlled for tasks, projects, and activities that pose a health and safety risk within your area of responsibility.
Who you are:
Extensive experience in the delivery of cyber security risk assessment and advisory services within major organisations, including demonstrated impact at an enterprise or sector-wide level.
Excellent understanding of industry-wide security standards and compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA, COBIT 5, GDPR, Mitre ATT&CK etc.
Excellent understanding of contemporary security technologies, products and services, including native cloud security controls in AWS and Azure, and their strategic application to enterprise architecture.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building high performing teams and in the development of staff.
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including ability to develop effective relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
