The Team
Fleet Services is a statewide team that provides support to Department of Health and Tasmanian State Service (THS) staff by ensuring vehicles are available for them to perform their daily duties. Fleet Services maintains the vehicle fleet by keeping it clean and safe for end users. Our service works to focus on delivering excellence to the Tasmanian Community by supporting their health needs.
The Role
Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle fleet and ensure vehicles are safe for drivers.
Undertake administrative and reception duties.
Maintain all relevant documentation and records pertaining to the operation and management of data that is related to Fleet Services in the region.
Liaise with various staff, service providers and other support services, assisting the Fleet Officer in the resolution of relevant Fleet Services matters.
You will need
Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness for the vehicle fleet, including demonstrated sound working knowledge of the safe use, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
Demonstrated basic knowledge and capability to perform minor maintenance on vehicles such as checking water, oil, tyre pressure, filling wiper fluid, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
Demonstrated skills and experience in administrative and reception duties, including sound knowledge in the use of software packages and database systems, including data entry, word processing, the use of spreadsheets and providing email/telephone services.

The Team
The Child Safety and Wellbeing Service within the Department of Health Tasmania is dedicated to promoting and maintaining safe, supportive, and inclusive environments for children and young people across health services. Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, leaders, and external stakeholders, the team provides expert guidance, policy oversight, education, and support to strengthen child safeguarding practices and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Committed to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, the team plays a critical role in protecting the rights, wellbeing, and best interests of children and young people.
The Role
Provide leadership and direction across the Department to create a child-safe and trauma-informed culture, and to develop, implement and drive statewide strategies and actions to promote child safety and wellbeing. This includes ensuring that the Department is child-centred, engages with children and young people, and develops and embeds systems to ensure children are safe and supported.
Reporting to the Director of Child Safeguarding, you will manage the human, financial and physical operations of the Service, support child safety and wellbeing and culture, and oversee the delivery of service activities, including those related to the Child Safety and Wellbeing Action Plan.
You will
Lead and manage the Child Safety and Wellbeing Service, ensuring the effective allocation of human, financial and physical resources, and compliance with Departmental and Government policies, probity standards, codes of conduct and statutory obligations.
Provide high-level advice to stakeholders, including the Director – Child Safeguarding, the Chief Risk Officer, senior executives within the Department of Health, other government agencies, health professionals and the public, on governance and accountability frameworks, functions, procedures and processes supporting the Tasmanian Child Safe Organisations Framework.
Oversee the identification, monitoring and analysis of trends, patterns and systemic risks relating to child safeguarding concerns, and provide expert advice to support high-quality triaging, escalation, documentation and systemic learning.
Lead intelligence gathering, projects, strategic development initiatives and assessment activities relating to child safeguarding and trauma-informed responses, ensuring issues are identified and addressed in line with the Tasmanian Child and Youth Safe Standards.

The Team
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the Level 6, tertiary referral centre for all Cardiology and Cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania. The Role
The Registered Nurse:
Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.
You will need:
Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) Registered Nurse standards for practice.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence based practice in the practice setting.

Participate in ongoing personal development by taking part in relevant training courses and ongoing education as identified in professional development reviews.
You will need
Demonstrated capacity to work with people with mental illness and knowledge of client rehabilitation needs, client centred practice and the need to establish an environment of support.
Knowledge of resources and services available to support people with mental illness in the broader community, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles of maintaining appropriate therapeutic relationships with clients.
