Who We Are:
The Roy Fagan Centre (RFC) is Tasmania’s statewide specialised inpatient mental health facility for older persons, and part of Older Person’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS). We provide compassionate, person-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental ill health, neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, and complex psychiatric conditions. Our multidisciplinary team works across four purpose-built units, each designed to support dignity, safety, and therapeutic engagement.

The Role:
Administrative Officer – Roy Fagan Centre / Older Persons Mental Health Services
Provide high-level administrative, reception and operational support to the Roy Fagan Centre and Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), ensuring efficient day-to-day service delivery.
Coordinate and supervise administrative staff, including rostering, leave management, training, induction and ongoing team support.
Manage administrative systems, records, filing and information retrieval processes to maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
Support senior management with correspondence, reports, ministerial briefings, Right to Information requests and special projects.
Liaise professionally with clients, clinicians and stakeholders, handling complex enquiries while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
Assist with recruitment, staffing, meeting coordination, minute-taking, asset management, reporting and quality improvement activities across the service.
You will need:
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in contemporary office management practices including knowledge of medical terminology, or the ability to quickly acquire, and well-developed computer skills and sound organisational skills.
Ability to assist with the training and guidance of less experienced administrative staff, and the orientation of new employees including delegating administrative duties to ensure the development of team members.
Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, including the ability to: cooperate and work well with other team members both in the administrative and clinical areas; respect the needs and ideas of others; provide support and assistance to team members; resolve conflicts; and appropriately share information with team members.

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 01 January 2027.

The Role:
As Deputy Manager – Occupational Therapy (Rehabilitation), you play a key leadership role in shaping service delivery and supporting staff development. This position is responsible for the management and development of over 20 Occupational Therapy Service staff working across sub-acute and community sites. Your leadership is essential for maintaining excellence in patient outcomes and aligning services with the Department’s CARE values—Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
You will work closely with the Occupational Therapy leadership team and multi-disciplinary leads to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services. You will also represent occupational therapy in the wider health care setting and deputise for the Head of Department when required.
You will need:
Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist in Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation and Management and / or Transition Care Programs.

The Team
