The HRIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Business Analyst is a subject matter expert in HR processes and the use of HR systems, in particular the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) package solution, in the administration of human resources at UNSW. They are the key intermediary between business end-users and UNSW IT to ensure that processes and systems meet business and legislative requirements. The HRIS SME and Business Analyst is accountable for analysing and defining requirements, collaborating with different stakeholders to deliver the functionality within HR systems and providing system user configuration and administration. The role of HRIS SME and Business Analyst reports to the Manager of HR Systems Operations and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities
Define, document and verify business functional and non-functional requirements for process and system changes and specify business process designs to provide the foundation for development of effective business solutions.
Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to deliver appropriate technical solutions.
Develop, manage and participate in User Acceptance Testing to ensure HR systems changes/enhancements are appropriately tested and quality assured.
Be responsible for complex business problem resolution, including complex data analysis.
Support HR stakeholder groups through the provision of subject matter expertise in HR business processes and the associated HRIS application functions, including core HR /personnel, payroll, recruitment, administer training and integration with other applications and functions.
Ensure HR systems meet legislative and policy compliance by monitoring and implementing regulatory requirements and changes.
Participate in HRIS upgrades and patching and responsible for the functional review of user acceptance of updates.
Ensure business users can use the new or modified systems through the provision of business change management and subject matter expertise in the rollout of end user training and support.
In collaboration with UNSW stakeholders, UNSW IT, and solution vendors identify security requirements and design, document, test, and implement user access solutions compliant with security policy guidelines.
Support the operational efficiency of the Peoplesoft HCM / Global Payroll application by performing system user configuration, administration and by providing end user support.
Mentor other team members to assist them develop their HR System skills and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
Provide cross functional team support, including backing up the Workforce Analytics and Reporting Team by providing security management, data analysis, develop queries and reports, and perform data reconciliation and error resolution

Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience.
Extensive professional experience in business process / functional analysis, design or support, or equivalent business experience.
Ability to quickly grasp concepts and a high-level competency in resolving complex systems and process improvement problems.
Previous experience in the implementation, upgrade and/or support of HRIS applications, including Peoplesoft HCM / Global Payroll, with the ability to perform user configuration and administration (workflow, security, tree management).
Experience and thorough understanding of project management methods and all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience in business requirements gathering, business analysis and modelling for a mission critical application with a large customer base.
Ability and demonstrated experience using relational databases, data analysis and reporting. •
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to communicate clearly and confidently with business end-users and IT functional and technical staff.
Excellent stakeholder management skills to collaborate and work with different business groups in creating solutions and business processes that are efficient, effective and compliant.
An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.

The primary role of the Change Analyst is to conduct change analysis and help develop and implement effective change plans, as well and build business readiness to maximise adoption to strategic, operational and technology change initiatives across the UNSW technology delivery portfolio. The Change Analyst also supports the Director Engagement and Change in contributing to new approaches and frameworks for managing people-related changes and the impacts resulting from change programs, projects and other initiatives. Accountabilities:
Conduct change analysis and change impact assessments using Change Methodologies (i.e. PROSCI/ADKAR) to inform and support successful change management outcomes.

Conduct stakeholder analysis to identify stakeholder commitment, impact, influence, and engagement to align engagement strategies.

The Technical Lead Secure Data Services is responsible for leading the development, delivery, and maintenance of secure research data services for UNSW. The role will maintain the existing secure data services and work closely with the Application Security Lead, Cyber Security, Data Governance, Solution and Enterprise Architects, Privacy, Technology team, UNSW Division of Research and Enterprise to co-design and develop fit-for-purpose sustainable alternatives/new solutions for continuous improvement. The Technical Lead Secure Data Services will actively contribute to defining the way secure research data services will be established and operate within the university. It includes achieving and maintaining standards-based certifications and ensuring high levels of uptake and engagement with the service. The role will offer advice and direction to researchers on the appropriate selection and utilisation of secure data services. Additionally, the Technical Lead will promote awareness of the University's internal and external data management environment to address emerging Cyber Security threats. This includes identifying areas for improvement in data management practices and recommending ways to address potential threats. The incumbent will maintain knowledge currency in application of emerging/changing technology, compliance, and legal and security practices while maintaining a high volume of work with tight deadlines. The role reports to Technology Manager and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities:
Lead the development and implementation of secure data life cycle practices and services to ensure that Highly Sensitive or Sensitive research data is stored and used in accordance with relevant UNSW Policies and broader Research compliance obligations and best practice.
Provide expert guidance and leadership for secure data storage, analysis and life cycle management practices and their adoption and embed secure data practices into IT and research groups across UNSW.
Collaborate with relevant areas such as Cyber Security, Data Governance, UNSW Legal, Enterprise and Domain Solution Architects, to establish and advance sustainable secure data processes, platforms, tools, including monitoring and hands-on setup of end-to-end services
Contribute to the development of standards, guidelines and proactively identify data life cycle management improvement opportunities to uplift capabilities.
Develop and deliver training with respect to secure data life cycle management that guides colleagues and stakeholders in the Research-domain through the uplift and into the embedding of these practices. • Mentor and support Research-domain colleagues and stakeholders to develop the technical skills and mindset that facilitates the secure data life cycle management uplift.
Support independent or standard-based certifications audits/compliance activities for secure data services, including statutory audits by the Audit Office of NSW.
Continually stay up to date and aware of legal, regulatory compliance and contractual obligations that are relevant to the University’s management of Research data.
Promote awareness of the University’s internal and external environment for emerging threats to Research data security.
Develop and improve metrics that drive secure data life cycle management practices and outcomes.

Skills and Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualification and 5+ years software engineering experience, with at least two years in an application data security and lifecycle management role, or equivalent competence through education, training, and experience.
In-depth understanding of the most common data security risks and demonstrated experience in secure data life cycle management practices and tooling.
Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing secure data life cycle management practices and tooling, preferably in a research context, complying with the relevant data security standards and compliance frameworks (such as Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles described, US Government Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA ), ISO27001, etc.).
Demonstrated experience of architecture and security concerns specific to Research data storage and management technologies, such as Cloud Storage in AWS (such as S3, EBS, FSx, DynamoDB, Lake Formation, Kinesis, etc.) and/or Azure (such as Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Microsoft Defender for Storage and SQL, Azure Blob and File Storage, etc.), and/or Data Centre Hardware Storage solutions .
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into solution delivery.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to structure and articulate messages in written and verbal form, develop effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels with advanced and a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.

The Specialist – Cyber Security Operations is a key position in the Security Infrastructure Operations team responsible for the implementation, configuration, and support of cyber security services across multiple environments including on-premises, public, and hybrid cloud. The Specialist will have knowledge and experience with cloud native security services in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365, and traditional security controls such as firewalls, endpoint security, secure email gateways, and data loss prevention. The role will be responsible for incident response including monitoring, analysis, and remediation of cyber threats working closely with our MSSP providers, security vendors, and the CSIRT team. The role reports to the Manager, Security Infrastructure Operations and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities:
• Monitor and respond to operational alerts and incidents impacting security services in partnership with UNSW IT, faculties, divisions, external partners, and other stakeholders as required.
• Document and review operating procedures, technical standards, service management plans, processes, designs, knowledge base articles and other documentation as required.
• Regular review and assessment of security controls ensuring they are operating as designed
• Implement, configure, upgrade, and optimise security services and technologies hosted on premises and in public cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Detect and respond to reported security incidents and requests ensuring they are appropriately triaged, prioritised, and remediated.
• Support the CI/CD pipeline following an Infrastructure-as-Code approach to automate security testing and manage security services.
• Be available for On-Call / After Hours support on a rotating basis, typically one week per month as well as weekend and After Hours work as required.
