Job Description:
Develop large language models and other methods and tools to effectively use electronic health record (EHR) data; apply ML methods (especially deep learning methods) to solve critical medical problems.
Implement methods into software that meets research needs, manage and update source codes as needed. Work in an interdisciplinary team of informaticists, programmers, information quality experts, statisticians, and researchers during software development.
Participate in design, implementation, and reporting of research and evaluation studies. Contributions to scientific reports, conference papers and journal articles are expected, including documentation of method, presentation of data, and participation in interpretation of results.

• Python, Java, or similar language experience.

Job Description:
The University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition is seeking an academic TransplantHepatologist to join its established Liver Transplant Program. This is a full-time appointment in the Department of Medicine at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level for a tenure/non-tenure track position. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on education and experience. The successful candidate must have a strong interest in developing an academic career.
Our high-volume center has over 20 years’ experience providing excellent care to patients with complex liver diseases. Since the program’s inception, our team has successfully transplanted more than 2,360 patients with end-stage liver disease. According to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients July 2022 report, our one-year survival rate is 98.5%, exceeding the national average of 92.14%. Our multidisciplinary approach to patient care draws on the combined expertise of our transplant physicians, transplant surgeons, nurse coordinators, transplant assistants, social workers, financial counselors, transplant pharmacists, immunogeneticists, anesthesiologists, intensivists and psychologists.

Job Description:
Selects and recruits study participants to enroll in various studies and protocols; participates in the informed consent process of study subjects; supports the safety of clinical research patients/research participants; coordinates protocol-related research procedures, study visits, and follow-up care; screens, completes case report forms (paper & electronic data capture), and addresses queries. Documents investigational product (drug/device) accountability.
Maintains and creates study source documents and electronic databases; reports adverse events; understands Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance; educates subjects and family on protocols, study interventions, study drugs, etc.; complies with institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines. Must comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies and manage essential regulatory documents. Acts as a liaison for research subject, investigator, IRB, sponsor, and heatlhcare professionals.

Summarizes conditions of patients and fills out data collection forms, which involves explaining procedures, protocols, and patient condition to patients and families.
Researches regulatory compliance participation in activities to initiate and maintain a current regulatory file; prepares and submits documents related to research protocols to both internal (UF-IRB, UF-CTC office, UF-OCR, etc.) and external (FDA, WIRB, etc.) organizations as required; completes end-of-study procedures; schedules and participates in sponsored research monitoring visits and QA audits; ensures the integrity and quality of the research protocol is maintained and the trial is conducted in accordance with GCP guidelines; attends UF-IRB 01 full board meetings as necessary. Manages study finances including sponsor invoicing and resolving study subject billing issues, participates in the development, and conduct of study billing plans. Aids in clinicaltrials.gov submissions.
Prepares progress reports; periodically reviews study protocols and suggests changes as needed. Reviews research projects periodically to ensure all procedures and aspects comply with nursing standards and policies. Promotes Human Subjects Protections within clinical research areas.

Job Description:
The Compliance Audit Specialist Conducts regulatory compliance audits of the University of Florida, College of Medicine departments, institutes and centers to ensure data integrity and compliance with federal and state regulations, reviewing medical and billing records to determine if service and documentation requirements are met. Works in collaboration with the Compliance Audit Specialist manager and Director of Physician Billing Compliance to provide input and assist in the development of any applicable training and education content.
About this Role
Conduct compliance audits of the University of Florida College of Medicine departments, institutes, and centers to ensure data integrity, compliance with federal and state regulations pertaining to, but not limited to provider billing services. Reviews medical and billing records to determine if service and documentation requirements are met. Clearly documents findings related to work performed. Communicate any identified patterns of error that may create institutional risk.
Contributes to audit findings report and assist in the organization of documentation to support and communicate audit findings. May direct/supervise clerical search of paper or electronic health records. These findings may lead to substantive refunds to the College of Medicine, and/or disciplinary action for faculty, residents, non-physician providers and operational staff.
Drafts summary reports, communications with physicians, compilation of findings, discussion of findings. Familiarizes with the structure of our clinical practice and participates in recommendations on educational and internal control policies to improve compliance plan effectiveness and operational outcomes.
Assist with the development of training sessions for providers, professional fee billing staff and others on a regularly scheduled or ad hoc basis
Responsible for current reading to remain appraised of coding changes, and seek institutional interpretations.
Researches current federal, state and payer documentation, billing and coding rules and regulations.
