This position is for an Allied Health Professional Clinician - CYMHS Consultation and Liaison (526895d) The position is also being advertised as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (526895). The position will be filled on a merit basis.
The Team:
The Allied Health Clinician works within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), a growing statewide service focused on supporting children and young people experiencing complex mental health concerns. The team is part of a multidisciplinary mental health and paediatric network, collaborating closely with Emergency Department clinicians, inpatient units, community services, and support organisations to ensure coordinated, person‑centred, and recovery‑focused care.
CYMHS teams are dedicated, highly skilled, and client‑focused, operating within a reform‑driven environment that includes Youth Mental Health, Youth Forensic, and Out‑of‑Home Care programs. These teams work side‑by‑side with new Consultation and Liaison roles to enhance assessment, triage, care planning, and clinical decision‑making for young people presenting with acute or complex needs. The collaborative structure ensures high‑level clinical coordination, specialist guidance for hospital staff, and seamless integration between inpatient, emergency, and community mental health pathways.
The Role:
Delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies
You will need to:
Provide mental health clinical expertise, supportive advice and clinical care to young people in a consultation liaison role by providing in-reach into the Emergency Department or relevant inpatient ward, based on best practice principles and legal and professional requirements, using specialist assessment and screening tools to deliver improved outcomes for patients presenting with mental health concerns and/or substance use related comorbidities.
Provide treatment recommendations and specialist support to the Emergency Department staff, relevant inpatient unit staff, other health professionals and community support organisations as required and assist with clinical decision making and the planning, implementation and evaluation of care given to young people to facilitate a person centred and recovery focused approach.
Provide support and psycho-education as appropriate and involve young people and their families/significant others in the identification of their needs, formulation of goals, development of care plans and the implementation of care.

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent positions, part time and full time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

The Team
The Workforce Strategy and Planning Unit (WSPU) provides statewide leadership in cross‑sectoral health workforce strategy, policy and planning, to build a sustainable, skilled and future‑ready workforce for Tasmania. The Unit delivers integrated, evidence‑based workforce planning aligned with service and infrastructure planning, leads implementation and monitoring of the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan, and ensures alignment with national workforce reforms and priorities.
The Medical Workforce Policy and Strategy Unit (MWPSU) is a functional stream of the WSPU, providing dedicated leadership in medical workforce policy, strategy, education and training coordination, and medical staffing frameworks to support statewide consistency and sustainable medical workforce supply.
The Role
This position supports the development, analysis and implementation of medical workforce policy initiatives that promote sustainable workforce models and statewide consistency. It applies quantitative and qualitative data analysis to workforce intelligence to identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities and ensure policy advice is evidence‑based.
Working collaboratively with the Workforce Planning Team and a wide range of stakeholders, the position contributes to the development of policies, guidelines and frameworks that align with regulatory and industrial requirements. It involves drafting high‑quality policy documents and briefing materials, monitoring the policy environment, consulting on proposed initiatives, and supporting evaluation and continuous improvement to strengthen workforce sustainability and service delivery outcomes.
You will need
Proven experience in policy development and analysis in complex settings, using data analytics to inform decisions and evaluate outcomes.
Strong capability to analyse workforce data and translate insights into evidence‑based policy that supports sustainable workforce and service delivery goals.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to clearly convey policy and data insights to diverse audiences.

About the role
As Ranger, you will assist the Ranger-in-Charge with the management of the Mount Field, Field Centre operations and resources.
This role blends hands‑on fieldwork, compliance responsibilities, office duties, and team leadership. You will manage budgets and expenditure while shaping staff development through effective induction and training programs.
Based at one of Tasmania’s oldest National Parks and the gateway to Tasmania’s jewel heritage reserve, the Western Arthurs, you’ll enjoy working among a diverse landscape of cascading waterfalls, tall eucalypt forests, alpine vegetation, and glacial lakes. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills, knowledge, and experience and play a pivotal role in the conservation and management of this spectacular location.
Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Essential requirements
A Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
A minimum of five years’ experience in reserve management or equivalent experience.
To access Band 4 Range 2 salary levels the following qualification is essential:
Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
Desirable requirements
Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
