The Team:
The Royal Hobart Hospital is the major provider of tertiary health services in southern Tasmania, including cardio-thoracic surgery and adult and neo-natal intensive care. The Cardiology Department provides an extensive range of high-quality diagnostic and interventional services. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
As a senior member of the Cardiac Physiologist team within the Department of Cardiology, the Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer contributes to the provision and development of an efficient, high-quality Echocardiography service at the Hospitals South by:
Working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate optimal patient management through the provision of timely Echocardiograms and provisional Echocardiography reports to the Cardiologist.
Assisting in the coordination of the Echocardiography service and service development.
Contributing to the training and supervision of level 1-2 Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiology Registrars in the field of Echocardiography.

Details of appointment:
Two Permanent full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Fixed term, part time, day worker (with on-call) position working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing 19 March 2025 for a period of 7 months
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of *study at a recognised tertiary institution, and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
*Undergraduate or post-graduate tertiary qualification in Echocardiography.
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. Eligibility for accreditation in Australia by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
Experience in paediatric echocardiography
At least 3 years postgraduate experience

The Role:
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Clinical Director and Nursing and Midwifery Director of Womens and Childrens Services, and assistance to other members of the Department.
Minute/note taking, preparation of correspondence, organisation and scheduling of meetings and appointments
Provide assistance to senior departmental staff in the co-ordination and recruitment of medical, nursing and midwifery staff.
Develop and maintain effective communication systems, including ensuring the timely flow of information to and from the department with organisations within and external to Hospitals North.
