About the RoleThe Lecturer in Small Animal Clinical Studies (Primary Care) at the University of Melbourne’s Melbourne Veterinary School will excel in teaching and clinical service within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.
This role involves delivering clinical instruction and supporting final-year rotations in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, as well as developing and presenting tutorials, lectures, workshops, and practical classes.
The Lecturer will contribute to leadership and service both within the university and the broader community, working closely with veterinary staff to ensure effective clinical service and integration with partnering practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
Make independent and innovative contributions to teaching and learning at all levels, with a focus on workplace integrated learning in DVM4, which enhance student learning and experience.
Provide support for DVM4 workplace integrated learning (clinical rotations) through provision of student inductions, clinical rounds, mentoring students, being a point of contact for students and staff employed by Greencross Veterinary Hospital (GVH) and Lost Dogs Home (LDH), collating and delivering formative and summative feedback to students
Work closely with clinical teams and individual clinical staff at GVH and/or LDH to ensure a high-quality student experience in a student-focused teaching and learning environment, ensuring all students acquire the required clinical competencies and intended learning outcomes.
Deliver teaching and assessment in a variety of settings by conducting tutorials, lectures, practical demonstrations, seminars, computer-based learning exercises and laboratory-based workshops which may extend to individual consultations and provision of online resources.
Provide excellent veterinary services to patients and clients, ensuring that clinical services meet the standards of national and international accreditation bodies.
Who We Are Looking ForYou will have demonstrated tertiary-level teaching experience with the ability to teach innovative programsYou will work independently and as a member of a team with a wide diversity of background, interests and at a variety of locations to deliver high-quality veterinary services to clients as well as teaching outcomes.
Lecturers at the University of Melbourne are expected to have expertise in clinical professional practice and experience in scholarly activities resulting in impactful publications and/or other scholarly outputs.
You will also have:
An awarded Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent veterinary degree registrable in Victoria with at demonstrated relevant experience as a veterinarian.
A scholarly approach to teaching as evidenced by demonstrated skills in teaching practice including analysis of learning needs, identification of appropriate approaches to teaching, developing ways to improve practice by obtaining and analysing feedback and maintaining currency with professional practice.
Demonstrated experience in small animal veterinary clinical practice and proven ability to manage a challenging and varied caseload.
Well-developed interpersonal and skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, internal and external stakeholders and an ability to tailor information to different audiences in a diverse environment.

The Quality and Patient Safety initiative (QPSi) under the UF College of Medicine (COM) is seeking a Healthcare AI Software Developer Analyst to help improve quality and patient safety using AI. The Analyst will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and numerous stakeholders to create innovative approaches to improve patient safety and health care operation pathways. The position will participate in designing and developing algorithms to model complex systems, meeting with end-users and key stakeholders to understand operational questions to be addressed, and working with other team members to support development of AI models and their impact in clinical setting.
About This Role
Application Support and Implementation
Develop process mining techniques (sequence analysis, clustering, graph neural network predictions) to address patient safety and healthcare pathways.
Research, pilot, and recommend solutions for extracting and visualizing clinical processes from healthcare data.
Lead performance monitoring and evaluation of process mining approaches, including GPU-accelerated libraries.
Contribute to the development of process-driven and sequence-driven features for AI models.
Assist with integrating developed models into the production environment.
Clinical Impact Evaluation Design and Implementation
Collaborate with external stakeholders to understand how to measure improvements in quality and patient safety.
Develop standardized scripts to clean, format, and prepare data for measuring impact of AI models in clinical setting.
Lead development of reusable python libraries to evaluate clinical impact of various AI models on patient safety and quality of patient care.
Assist in development of streamlined pipelines from data gathering to data analysis and visual representation.
Investigate and adapt existing programming libraries for visual representation of detected changes in clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
Project Management & Knowledge Dissemination
Assist with project organization and coordination.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user needs, draft proposals, and assess feasibility.
Develop and maintain technical documentation.
Create comprehensive reports summarizing project status, recommendations, and outcomes. Train team members and healthcare professionals in process mining approaches and capabilities

Duties Include:
Design and manage data file systems from multiple research projects that include multiple data sets using a variety of database and statistical software tools, for example, SAS, SQL, and Excel;
Optimize data summary and reporting using various software tools, including SAS programming, SQL code, Excel Macros (Visual Basic), and running stored procedures; generate output for presentation in scientific reports, conference papers, and journal articles.

Laboratory Technician II - Molecular and cellular biology
Job Description:
General laboratory maintenance: includes supervising compliance with hazardous waste and biological safety requirements, routine record keeping, ordering, inventory, maintaining stock solutions including common buffers. Perform a variety of standard laboratory tests and analyses. Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment. Prepare specimens and samples for study. Assist members of the laboratory in collecting and organizing data. Document results that were generated in the laboratory. Experience in myofiber isolation, RNA FISH, and immunofluorescence highly desirable.
Employee will assist researchers in performing standard laboratory techniques. This includes myofiber analysis.
General laboratory maintenance: includes supervising compliance with hazardous waste and biological safety requirements, attend all training classes and be fully certified to monitor and comply with all hazardous waste and biological safety requirements for the laboratory.
Miscellaneous office duties to include pick up and delivery of mail, pick up and delivery of perishable packages, delivery of non-perishable packages.
Expected Salary:
Hourly pay range is $18.06 - $20.59 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
