Duties
Provide practical and administrative support to all aspects of Ashley Youth Detention Centre’s (AYDC) planning and case management processes for young people in custody and in accordance with legislative and procedural provisions. Assist with the provision of integrated and coordinated services aimed at the reintegration of young people in detention back into the community.Assist in the development, establishment and maintenance of effective case management systems, processes, and procedures for young people in custody.

Essential Requirements
Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW.

The Role:
Provide administrative support to the GP & PC unit of the CQRA group in the Department of Health including developing and tracking and reporting systems.
You will need:
Provide administrative support to the GP&PC Unit of the CQRA group in the Department of Health. This includes working directly with the Director GP&PC and project teams.
Be a point of contact for the GP&PC Unit in relation to professional colleges, grant and other applicants, administrators, and practices.
Provide executive and program support to the GP&PC Unit and the wider CQRA Group as required.

The Role requires a
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately two (2) years.

The Role:
In collaboration with patients, carers/significant others and members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
As a member of the health care team, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing strategies towards meeting anticipated patient outcomes.
As required, participate in the development and revision of organisational documentation and policies and procedures relating to nursing based best practice
Under general direction actively participate in research and quality improvement activities that are expected to advance the practice of nursing including the use of the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
Contribute to the communication process by participating in team meetings and committees that enhance the function of the Wilfred Lopes Centre, patient care and teamwork.
You will need:
Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
Knowledge and understanding of the psycho-social and health needs of individuals and their application to nursing practice in a forensic setting, including an understanding of the principles of maintaining appropriate therapeutic relationships with patients. A sound knowledge of psychotropic drugs, actions and side effects.
Relevant experience in a mental health area and/or experience in a forensic health setting and/or a secure, acute mental health facility. Knowledge of relevant legislation.

The Team:
The Wilfred Lopes Centre is a specialised mental health facility located in Risdon Vale, Hobart. The Centre is located near Risdon Prison, however, is not a part of the Prison
We provide care and treatment for people with mental health issues who are involved with the criminal system.
We manage behaviours associated with behavioural disturbance, such as verbal and physical aggression and self-harm and as such, all staff are provided training in de-escalation and physical restraint.
Those in our care may be inmates of the Tasmanian Prison Service; are appearing in or remanded from the Magistrates or Supreme Courts; are found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity or Unfit to Plead and placed on a Forensic Order; or may be community clients who are presenting with risks to themselves or others and cannot be managed in the community or the inpatient mental health units.
Our staff enjoy free on-site parking and are eligible for an additional 6.5% correctional allowance.
Successful applicants may be eligible for Forensic Mental Health Scholarships

Multiple permanent, full time or part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

The Role:
Acts as a member of a team and performs duties consistent with quality improvement guidelines to provide hospital aide services, general housekeeping, porterage and catering duties to patients within the Renal Unit. The position will rotate across the 3 Renal units.
You will need:
Ability to and/or have knowledge and experience in decontaminating, sterilising and maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and the environment according to infection control principles, policies and protocols.
Ability to monitor ward/unit stock and stores and undertake ordering where appropriate.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team promoting a harmonious working environment.
Ability to undertake and plan daily duties with minimal supervision with the capability to adapt to changing demands in the workplace.

The Renal unit works closely in a multi-disciplinary approach to provide care to patients with kidney disease. The position advertised is based at Karingal home therapies unit, at St Johns Park, New Town where we support patients and their families training for self-care.
