The role: The overall direction of the Department of Women’s and Children’s Services with responsibility for providing effective clinical, financial, teaching and research services. Effective provision of evidence based, efficient inpatient and outpatient clinical care to patients of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). The Team: The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is a level 5 tertiary Hospital within the Tasmanian Role Delineation Framework. The LGH has 349 inpatient beds, 117.7 presentations to the Emergency Department daily, 5 births daily. There are many specialty services including general medicine, rehabilitation, neurology and acute stroke management, surgery and women's and children's services. The Department of Women’s and Children’s Services includes the children’s ward, neonatal nursery, birthing and obstetric unit and outpatient services. The Department has a collaborative team comprised of the Clinical Director, Nursing Director, Clinical Leads, Nurse Unit Managers and professional clinical and support staff.
