Job Description:

Coordinate and participate in timely setting up field, greenhouse and laboratory experiments at different locations, assist in soil and plant samples sampling, samples prepping, record keeping in field notebooks, sample submissions, data entry and assist report preparations.

Coordinate and analyze all samples received at the Soil Moisture Core lab, collect the data and send the reports to the clients timely. Troubleshooting, ordering supplies and servicing laboratory equipment in the Moisture Lab and the research Lab in McCarty Building as necessary, is required.

Coordinate activities related to online IFAS CCA Educational program statewide, complete all paperwork appropriately, closely coordinate with IFAS COLT staff in preparing courses, collect statistical data, analyze and disseminate to the speakers and participants.

Coordinate revisions of online digital resources such as forms, fact sheets, etc. at the IFAS ANSERV Labs as directed, using appropriate software as necessary, on a regular basis.

Coordinate purchases of supplies and other items needed for the program after due approvals, secure the inventories, complete submission and maintain all paperwork, plan ahead for ordering supplies and other items with the students and the PI.

Oversee operation and maintenance of the state vehicles and the field mule in the program including purchase of gas, batteries, tires, etc., conduct small repairs, safety inspections or service them at the repair shops, as required, follow appropriate road safety protocols, maintain and submit log sheets timely to the Department and funding agencies.

Conduct safety-related tasks, completion of required trainings, maintenance of MSDSs (Material Safety Data Sheets), regular EH&S inspections and self-audits of all labs, are required. All records should be prepared and maintained.

Assist and train other lab personnel, OPS technicians, students, post-docs, researchers and visiting scholars in pertinent techniques, conducting various field and laboratory procedures.

Expected Salary:

up to $45,000.00, commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with experience conducting field, greenhouse and laboratory experiments.
