Base Location: Reading, West London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire or East Sussex

Salary:£41,307 - £61,175 + car allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

As our Civil Engineer you'll support the Major Projects Connections business and be responsible for:

- acting as a focal point for the Design Authority process to achieve appropriate standards, legislation and project objectives in all civil engineering matters

- ensuring value engineering and innovation are incorporated in the design of the network's distribution projects across the southern region

- liaising with a range of different stakeholders which include investment managers, designer engineers, customers, field staff, design consultants, contractors, design authority and project managers

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- demonstrable technical knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of major civil engineering projects, particularly those associated with electricity distribution

- a degree level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, as well as being a Chartered Civil Engineer or have a very clear path to becoming chartered

- the ability and confidence to make engineering-based decisions, which have a significant impact on engineering risk

- strong commercial acumen and a firm grasp of the context and implications of engineering activities and decisions

- a sound understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and understand the duties of Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor
