Job Description:

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) within the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is seeking a highly professional Work Study Student to work 15-20 hours per week as a technical editor to assist faculty in research proposal development. The MSE department provides a vibrant, multidisciplinary, and highly collaborative environment with strong research and graduate training programs. It is one of the largest MSE departments in the nation, with 37 faculty members and nearly 400 students.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and format citations and references into common software studies, such as EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley
  • Convert and input footnotes/endnotes into referencing software
  • Search for and complete any missing reference information, such as DOI, URL, etc.
  • Create publication databases and libraries
Expected Salary:

$12 per hour (could go higher commensurate with experience)

Minimum Requirements:

The incumbent must supply a copy of her/his Financial Aid Award Page showing the FWS award.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellence interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word
  • Experience with common citation/referencing software such has EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley
  • The ability to organize, manage, and multi-task, with great attention to detail
  • Initiative and highly motivated to produce high quality work products
