Job Description:

Following an announcement by the Tasmanian Government, a Public Health Direction was issued on 10 September 2021 requiring that all Health Workers are vaccinated against COVID-19. This step is critical in protecting both our health workforce and vulnerable Tasmanians in our care.

Applicants for any position within the Department of Health must be prepared to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of their employment.

The Role:

This position is based in Northern Tasmania.

Details of Appointment

1 x Fixed Term Full Time, Day Worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from October 2021 until September 2022

1 x Fixed Term Full Time, Day Worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from October 2021 until May 2022

Salary: $58,323 - $61,704 per annum + 10% superannuation

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification
  2. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence
  2. Current First Aid Certificate Level I

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. Crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
