Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician I/II (CARE)

Job Description:

Example of Veterinary Technician Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assisting with patient evaluations or rechecks
• Performing general nursing care such as venipuncture, catheter placement, patient restraint, treatments, medication administration, and sample collection
• Documenting in electronic medical records
o Planning, organizing, and coordinating appointments, consultations, and diagnostic procedures appropriately with other services
o Assisting with estimates, paperwork (e.g. anesthesia requests etc), and charges for cases
o Client interactions including intake and discharge of Radiation Oncology cases, assisting with phone calls and messages, and client education

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

This position is considered essential personnel

Advertised Salary:

Starting salary is $16.50-$20; dependent on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Veterinary Technician I:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of veterinary experience or one year of veterinary experience and currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program or a graduate of a veterinary technician program.

Veterinary Technician II:

Credentialed veterinary technician and four years of veterinary experience.

Preferred Qualifications:• Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR
• Credentialed veterinary technician
