About the role:

This is the most senior professional staff position within Mindful, a dynamic centre in the Department of Psychiatry, providing teaching, professional development training, and research in child and adolescent mental health across Victoria. Working closely with the Director, the Centre Manager is involved in strategic and budget planning and has overall responsibility for financial and human resource management and reporting, occupational health and safety compliance and facilities management, including local oversight of building and grounds maintenance and external contractors. The Centre Manager provides leadership and advice to all staff within Mindful, as well as direct supervision of a small team of professional staff involved in the administration of various programs and activities. The position is based off-campus at Travancore but involves regular liaison with the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Melbourne, Parkville.

About you:

Minimum Qualifications Required:

You will have tertiary qualifications, preferably in business or financial management, and/or considerable relevant experience, preferably in a higher education environment.

Skills and Experience Required to Fulfil the Position:

You will have excellent leadership and communication skills, a strong commitment to teamwork and a sensitivity to the needs of staff within an expanding and changing environment. Considerable budgetary and strategic planning experience, the ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative will be important, while your high level organizational skills, ability to prioritize competing demands, flexibility, and informed judgement in problem solving will be key to success in this role. Previous experience working within a tertiary education environment will be most welcome.
