Job Description:

The duties and responsibilities of the person in this position are to provide the Dept. of Physiological Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), University of Florida with a skilled and knowledgeable CVM resource person in animal anatomical preparation techniques, and to maintain the anatomical preparation areas and laboratories.

This role includes:

  • Prosection (dissection and preparation) of animal cadavers for demonstrating anatomical structures to students.
  • Preparation of animal cadaveric specimens and adhering to all appropriate IACUC and EH&S regulations and protocols.
  • Participation in the veterinary anatomy teaching program by overseeing the cleaning, set-up and tear-down of gross anatomical classes (laboratories).
  • Maintaining anatomical preparation/teaching labs and walk-in coolers/freezers. Maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment. Maintaining supply inventory, identifying supplies and equipment that need to be ordered.
Expected Salary:

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

1-3 years of relevant experience
