The medical services across the North West region of Tasmania are based primarily at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) in Burnie and at the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) in Latrobe close to Devonport. Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the Department of Health, Tasmania – North West provides both acute and sub-acute general medicine services including a large outpatient service.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking motivated and experienced Non-Interventional Cardiologists, who will work as part of the Department of Medicine at the NWRH. This position will be attractive to highly skilled and motivated medical professionals who view challenges as opportunities and are driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems.

Details of Appointment

Fixed Term Part Time Day Worker (with on-call) position working 7.6 hours per fortnight until November 2022


Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in the relevant speciality.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
  2. Current Driver's Licence
