Employment Type/Duration: (1 x 12-month, full-time fixed term contract/1 x part-time 0.4, ongoing)

Remuneration: Level 7 (FTE $98,354 - $106,449 + 17% super + leave loading)

UNSW is strengthening our dedicated laser safety team with two positions – an ongoing, part-time (2 days week) role, to provide laser safety advice (online and face-to-face) to laboratory staff and users, and ensure compliance across all UNSW Sydney campuses, and a 12-month, full-time contract to review laser standards and registrations across all faculties.

Who you are

You have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a laser safety support environment or equivalent gained through any combination of education, training, and experience, as well as knowledge of AS/NZS IEC 60825.14:2011 Safety of laser products - Part 14: A user's guide AS/NZS IEC 60825.1: 2014 Safety of laser products - Part 1: Equipment classification and requirements, along with high-level critical thinking skills to interpret accordingly. Equally important will be your consultative and customer service focused operating style to build strong professional relationships and influence others to achieve compliance in laser safety operations.
