Job Description:

Actively work on day to day filed, lab and green house operations related to breeding research. Perform seed processing, thrashing, cleaning, preparation of nurseries and yield trials, planting of yield trials and nurseries, the management of seed inventories, nursery and yield trial planning. Harvest nurseries and yield trials Travel to Quincy, Citra and other locations for different breeding activities, may require stay overnight and work longer hours during planting and harvesting time.

Help and generate data in different small grain breeding experiments under heat and drought conditions. Collect data on plant growth stages, diseases, yield and yield components in different yield trials. Take different notes in breeding nurseries and greenhouse experiments.

Expected Salary:

$14.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Strong background in production agriculture and experience operating field equipment desirable. Valid Driver License. Experience with field crops is highly preferable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Farm equipment, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Occasionally will need to work weekends, and after 5pm during harvesting and planting season.
