Job Description:

The Ensembl Project, based at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), is one of the leading providers of genome annotation.

The Ensembl Team creates pipelines and workflows for the aggregation and annotation of large of scale data from public archives. We develop tools for data access, visualisation and variant interpretation, including the Ensembl Variant Effect Predictor (VEP).

We participate in projects including; Ensembl resources are some of the most highly used by scientists across the globe.

You will be responsible for operational leadership of variation-related activities in Ensembl, including data aggregation, annotation and presentation.

Challenges include the exploration and adoption of new technologies and methods to manage increasing volumes of data and the extension of our systems to support novel data types and graph genomes. The responsibilities of the role will include -
