The hospital:

The Tasmanian Health Service – North West Region encompasses two hospitals, the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe. We are currently seeking applications for Resident Medical Officers to work across both hospitals.

The Resident Medical Officer is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital (or rural facility). Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.

The North-West Coast is a beautiful and accessible part of Tasmania with the opportunity for work life balance above what is afforded in larger cities.

Applicants who have limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia are eligible to apply for these positions.

Please note these positions are for commencement in 2021, and are separate from the 2022 campaign.

Details of Appointment:

Multiple Fixed Term Full Time day worker (with on-call) positions working 76 hours per fortnight

Salary: $76,003-$85,678 per annum + 9.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    • crimes of violence
    • sex related offences
    • serious drug offences
    • crimes involving dishonesty
  2. Identification check
  3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
