PELVIC SURGERY SENIOR REGISTRAR – FELLOW (2022)

The Pelvic Surgery Registrar position will be best suited to a level 5 or 6 trainee, with preference given to those who have passed the Fellowship exams. The position will be principally attached to the Gynaecologic Oncology service, with other senior registrar duties including after-hours cover, teaching and supervision of junior trainees. This position is particularly suited to a Trainee in their elective years who wishes to consolidate their surgical skills prior to entering specialist practice. Experience will be gained in open and laparoscopic pelvic surgery and the care of women with complex surgical and medical conditions.

Salary

$95,697 - $135,411 per annum

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time, day work (part time and casual positions will be considered) 80 hours per fortnight, commencing 31 January 2022 until 30 January 2023

Royal Hobart Hospital

Duties

The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Staffing Unit.

Essential Requirements

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence

b) Sex Related Offences

c) Serious Drug Offences

d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
