Job Description:

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of the Biological Resources Imaging Lab (BRIL), you will facilitate timely and accurate biobank data-management in compliance with relevant privacy acts, UNSW data management and regulatory legislation, as well as provide support to Biorepository staff, contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive biorepository and biobanking service.

The Data Officer works with others in the UNSW Biorepository and Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre (MWAC) to engage with a wider group of researchers within the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct and will also liaise with NSW Health, NSW Health Pathology and other stakeholders.

UNSW is providing a coordinated, centrally managed biobanking service for researchers across UNSW and its affiliated research institutes, ensuring a high level of standardised processes around all biobanking activities including patient consent, specimen collection, data linkage and research governance, ensuring that UNSW continues to function as a leader in research employing biospecimens. The project is a priority for the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct supporting translational researchers in diverse areas and offers the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders across the precinct.

About the successful applicant:

You have a relevant degree and or experience in data management in hospital, health or tertiary education sectors, as well as:

Level 7 (in addition to Level 6)
