$94,469 to $111,765 pro-rata, per annum

Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,158 is subject to qualifications and application to the personal upgrade scheme as with Schedule 8 of the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Period of Employment

Fixed term casual day work, working as and when required commencing as soon as possible for a period of three years.


Royal Hobart Hospital – Occupational Therapist Services.


The Tasmanian Health Service delivers community, outpatient, and hospital services including the Royal Hobart Hospital. The Occupational Therapy Service has 70+ team members including occupational therapists and assistants, play specialists, diversional therapists, carpenter, and administration officers.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you are expected to draw on your highly developed clinical skills and knowledge to provide client centred therapy to address the client’s occupational goals. You are responsible for the provision of clinical advice to the Manager and Team Leaders, evidenced informed practice, education, and supervision to Level 1-2 Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants. You are expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and when appropriate to contribute to service development and education in your clinical area.

Senior Occupational Therapists appointed to the casual pool have specific areas of highly developed clinical skills and knowledge and this is considered when making appointments to the roster. Your application should demonstrate how you could quickly adapt to the Tasmanian Health Service work setting in a casual role.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check
