Job Description:

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen

Salary:£84,000 - £126,000 plus car/cash allowance and annual bonus

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

What is the Role?

SSEN Transmission currently has an opportunity for Head of SHE.

Your key responsibilities in this role are:

  1. Supporting all business unit Directors, they will support the business in their endeavours to keep people, assets and the environment safe from harm.
  2. Actively define and promote the relevant health, safety and environment policies and standards across the SSE Transmission.
  3. Establish and manage appropriate operational standards, processes and communication and training to ensure SHE risks are appropriately controlled within statutory parameters. Development and implementation of effective controls and appropriate standards to reinforce and share best practice across Transmission and the SSE Group.
  4. Build and maintain firm relationships through direct line reports with key stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities, Industry Bodies, Designers, Contractor Management Teams and Site Operational Teams.
  5. The Head of SHE has SHE responsibilities for key operational assets worth over £3.5b which provides a safe and reliable supply of electricity to over 750,000 customers in the north of Scotland as well as ensuring generation is able to supply power as and when required. They will also be responsible for SHE across Transmission Major Projects with over £2.5b of construction projects at various stages in the pipeline.
