Base Location: Glasgow & Perth

Salary: circa £40,000 depending on skills and experience plus car/cash allowance and bonus

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

What is the Role?

SSEN Transmission currently have an opportunity for a Community Liaison Manager to plan, implement and report on effective community engagement that supports the development of SHE Transmission’s grid network.

Your key responsibilities in this role are:

  1. Provide advice on the potential requirement for community engagement and, when a requirement is identified, work in conjunction with the project delivery teams to prepare and implement a coordinated activity schedule and associated communication plan.
  2. You must be able to engage and influence constructively and successfully with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority, internal and external to SSE, to ensure plans are effectively shaped, understood, and communicated.
  3. You’ll also manage the creation of all engagement material with support, when necessary, from a designated external design agency. This may include project display boards, brochures, posters, newspaper adverts, press releases, mail drops, letters and newsletters.
  4. You’ll work closely with our Corporate Affairs team for external political input and continuity of press and media activities. In conjunction with Corporate Affairs you will prepare and maintain project web-sites (and other social media platforms) ensuring most up to date information is made available to stakeholders.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  1. The ability to work under pressure and work to tight deadlines and should be a highly organised individual.
  2. Knowledge and experience of stakeholder engagement, with preference for community focussed engagement, and experience of preparing appropriate engagement material.
  3. An understanding of the utility sector (with preference for energy networks) and the contribution of Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission would be advantage.
  4. The role will involve travel across the North of Scotland and may on occasions require evening working and being away from home overnight.
