What is the Role?

SSE Contracting Ltd have a number of vacancies for Inspection and Test Approved Electricians and Electricians for their busy National Compliance Business. Recent contract wins & our existing orderbook means we are looking to recruit and develop electricians to join our existing regional team who are experienced in periodic inspection and testing.

The role will involve responsibility for conducting all aspects of fixed wiring electrical inspection and testing, together with emergency lighting inspections, fixed appliance testing, energy efficiency monitoring, conducting thermal imaging surveys and class-leading electrical installation conditioning reports, fully compliant with 2018 BS7671 regulations.

Supporting our business objectives, you will promote a positive safety culture at all times, respecting and observing any on-site procedures. You will also identify and highlight any unsafe and dangerous conditions.

What do I need?

You will be able to demonstrate periodic inspection and test experience and be a qualified electrician. Additionally you'll hold an inspection and test qualification e.g. City and Guilds 2391 and be certified to 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations e.g. City and Guilds 2382 BS7671 18th Edition.

You'll have good organisational and time-management skills, allowing you to work on your own initiative. This role requires good communication skills to liaise with internal colleagues and an ability to engage with customers.

As with much of the electrical compliance type business some of the work is within the normal working day, but applicants also must be flexible and adaptable, being prepared to work flexible and less sociable hours to cater for the needs of our clients. This may offer premium rates of pay where applicable.
