Job Description:

The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Court Liaison Officer vacancy.

Please note this position is also being advertised as a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Court Liaison Officer (512554d) and only one position will be filled on merit

Salary

$94,469 to $111,765 per annum

Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,158 is subject to completion of a relevant Graduate Diploma or application to the personal upgrade scheme in accordance with Schedule 8 of the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

*Please note this position attracts a 6.5% correctional allowance

Permanent, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible

Community Forensic Mental Health Services - South

Duties

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality forensic mental health services and in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Court Liaison Officer will:

  • Provide assessment, intervention and referral services to individuals at the beginning of the criminal justice system.
  • Provide specialist liaison and consultation about mental health matters and management of associated problems to Magistrates, Solicitors, Police and Community Corrections staff at the Courts.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
  • Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence

b) Sex Related Offences

c) Serious Drug Offences

d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
