Please note that access to the progression point of Year 4Q salary of $116,218 is subject to successful completion of a relevant Master’s Degree as with Clause 10 of the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Period of Employment

Permanent, full-time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Oldaker Street Clinic – North West


  • Undertake the delivery of quality patient care services, based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.

  • Provide a specialist clinical psychological assessment and treatment service to clients of an Adult Community Mental Health Team. Act as a consultant to other agencies regarding the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

  • Provide comprehensive clinical evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment, including the use of formal psychological tests as appropriate.

  • Provision of evidence-based clinical psychological treatment and case management services for clients with major and complex mental health problems.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

  • Post-graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, 2 years post-registration supervised experience and/or membership of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Clinical Psychologists plus an additional 3 years’ experience in a clinical area directly applicable to adult community mental health.
