Job Description:

The Veterinary Hospitals Service Representative is responsible for facilitating administrative related Veterinary Hospital needs by communicating with staff, clinicians, house officers, and veterinary students along with clients and other visitors, processing paperwork, and organizing and providing information on various projects and programs. They should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of all Veterinary Hospital departments, services, and overall workflows. Additionally, they should provide excellent service to all and handle interactions with the highest level of professionalism.

Responsibilities of the Veterinary Hospitals Service Representative will include, but are not limited to the following functions:

  1. Recruitment/Communication Services: The focus of the recruitment/communication services function is to provide accurate and proficient assistance to all direct and indirect associates of the veterinary hospitals (e.g. staff, clients, visiting veterinary technology students, candidates for employment). Assistance and information provided should be presented in a courteous and timely manner with a commitment to providing the best possible experience and enhancing the hospital reputation. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with recruitment efforts
  • Coordinating or providing assistance with veterinary technology programs

Communication delivery methods include orally, written, and in digital platforms.

  1. Program Management Services: The focus of the program management function is to properly oversee or assist with programs and services related to the operations of the hospitals. Adhering to timelines and guidelines in a meticulous and appropriate fashion is required. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with hospital related accreditations including AAHA, VECCS, and AAFP (Cat Friendly) certifications
  • Assisting with staff compliance programs
  • Assisting with the MVS/MVT Program
  • Assisting with Staff/National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week
  • Assisting with various orientations such as House Officer, Technician Internship, and Junior Orientations

Communication delivery methods include orally, written, and in digital platforms.

  1. Administrative Services: The focus of the administrative services function is to maintain a productive, organized service. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining clean and tidy working areas by washing dishes, emptying trash cans or recycle bins, processing laundry, or submitting work orders as needed
  • Maintaining inventory and replenishing stock within the assigned areas
  • Submitting central store and special order requests
  1. Other Related Services:
  • Obtain CE requirements as associated with AAHA standards
  • Uphold yearly compliance requirements via various policies and training modules
  • Other duties as assigned

Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday which may require working earlier then 8:00 a.m. or later than 5:00 p.m. Schedule may change due to completing urgent tasks or assisting with programs. Some weekend duty may be required. This is a full-time benefited position and requires a post offer health assessment.

Advertised Salary:

Starting salary is $15.00 - $17.00 per hour; commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma and four years of experience in veterinary and customer service.
