Base Location: Poole, Portsmouth, Slough, Reading, Swindon, Oxford

Salary:£46,319 - £61,175 + car/car allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working patterns available

What is the Role?

1. As a Protection and Control Field Engineer you will be involved in the operation and support of the Protection and Control system at voltages from 400V to 132kV across the Southern Distribution Network.

2. You'll support construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance testing, faults and defect rectification.

3. You will also carry out network and protection grading studies to assist in new connections and network alterations.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

1. Qualification in Electrical Engineering to min. HNC level, or equivalent; alternatively, significant relevant experience may be considered. Previous experience working in power system protection, working on high voltage protection relays & schemes, telecontrol systems, wiring and schematic diagrams and onsite installation & commissioning of protection systems.

2. Ideally you will already be a Authorised Person (AP) to 33kV. Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with maintenance/commissioning protection tests experience is favourably considered.

3. Knowledge of Embedded Generation protection and G59 Regulations and familiar with Computer aided protection engineering software and experienced in utilising relay manufacturers software.

4. Excellent leadership, organisational, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. You must have a good understanding of electricity distribution networks

5. An interest in long term development in order to identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements
