Job Description:
The Paediatric department is part of the Women and Childrens’ Service at the Launceston General Hospital. There is a general paediatric ward, a neonatal ward (we look after babies from 32 weeks gestation) and a busy Paediatric Outpatient Department. Outreach services are provided at the Launceston Aboriginal Centre and Flinders Island. The Paediatric unit has an Adolescent section, and provides in and outpatient eating disorder treatment collaboratively with CYHMS
The position of paediatric staff specialist will be attractive to a highly skilled and motivated professional, who is driven by a passion to improve regional healthcare for children and adolescents, and who can manage both acute inpatients paediatrics and on call, as well as be willing to join the MYFEEDS (Eating Disorder team), or join the paediatricians supporting Type 1 Diabetes patients. A candidate who has skills to be involved in the SAFE (Assessment of paediatric sexual assault) roster will be preferred.
The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. Teaching will be a core part of your tasks.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, day worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight fractional hours will be considered.
Commencing as soon as you are able to join our team.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $216,300to $296,410 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.

Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on specialist pathway
Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the specialty.
